Brittany Apple, LPC
Brittany has a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Boston College and Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Sewanee: The University of the South. Brittany is a native to Georgia but has worked in Massachusetts, Georgia, and Texas in various settings. She began her training at Franciscan Children’s Hospital inpatient unit in Boston, Massachusetts, which provided her invaluable experience in working with younger clients and their families in imminent need. Other settings have included both group homes and nursing homes, but most of her work experience has been in outpatient group practice settings with adults, adolescents, and children. She has worked with clients on a variety of issues including PTSD, trauma, depression, anxiety, other related mood disorders, couples counseling, life transitions, and loss. She is trained in play therapy as well as traditional talk therapy with adults, children and adolescents.
Brittany’s strategies are rooted in positive psychology and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Clients are encouraged to examine core beliefs and thinking patterns and most importantly, identify personal strengths. She meets her clients right where they are in a space free of judgment. By utilizing a strength-based approach, soon clients are confidently helping to determine a uniquely suited plan to address their needs. Brittany is there to actively listen but also quick to jump into action when concrete strategies are needed to tackle certain issues. She incorporates worksheets, games, art, books, media, etc. when relevant, knowing that clients can benefit from having a range of therapy tools to choose from. She also has a comfort level incorporating spiritual and religious practice content into therapy, but only if desired by the client.
