Pippa, Certified Therapy Dog

Meet Pippa, a therapy dog on staff who specializes in tail wagging, warm greetings, and the high-five trick. Pippa is a certified Canine Good Citizen (CGC), which means she is trained and has taken an exam to earn this position as a therapy dog. She absolutely loves people, and she assists by offering clients comfort, emotional support, and compliments the therapy process. Animal-assisted therapy is included in individual counseling sessions upon request. No extra charge.

Animal-assisted therapy incorporates a trained therapy animal into the counseling process with a mental health professional. This intervention can provide emotional support, reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, and facilitate social interaction. Animal-assisted therapy can be very therapeutic for clients. Dogs are often known as compassionate, empathetic, in-tune with others’ emotions, and having that unconditional love.
